Beloved children of the Most-High God,
I want to offer my deepest thanks to all of you – the people of St. Peter's – for the ways in which you have rallied around and supported me through the sudden loss of my beloved Lawrence last month. The funeral service on November 2 was absolutely perfect, and I have been deeply, richly blessed by the cards, letters, phone calls and hugs I have received from all of you over the past several weeks. Your care and compassion have touched me deeply and I am grateful for each of you as you continue to be a part of my healing.
Thank you also for giving me time and space to begin to deal with this devastating loss. I miss him terribly, but I am truly happy for him – where he is and Who he is with – and this brings me tremendous solace as I move slowly towards a new normal.
I'm easing back into ministry this week and expect to gradually increase my involvement in parish life over the weeks ahead – taking one day at a time. I am so grateful for your presence with me on this journey. I am more aware now than ever before that in Christ is all our hope and glory. God bless you all.
With gratitude, love and blessings,
Rev. Bonnie Luft
