UPCOMING EVENTS and NOTICES
Greetings,
Mr. Rudy Janzen is no longer the Rector’s Warden.
I appreciate his love of and dedication to St. Peter’s. I thank him for his ministry amongst us and pray that he will continue to use his God-given gifts within the parish.

On Tuesday, May 12, there will be a ZOOM Parish Council meeting.

People are brought on and people step down from positions because organizations grow and evolve. This is a normal procedure. At the different stages of growth, any organization, which is not a museum, require different sets of skills. The Church is very much an llive organization always stirred up by the Holy Spirit of God.
The Rev. Jagdutt Singh.

Donations: Parish members may either mail in their donation to the Church (903 75 Ave SW, Calgary, AB, T2V 0S7), or they may bring it in and slide it under the Office door. The other alternative is for people to go to their bank and set up a direct deposit- please email Meredith for a form to complete. This will be extremely helpful as a parish member because it automatically comes out of your account to St. Peter’s.

Directory Update: Ann Bright and her team have almost completed contacting everyone in the 2019 Church Directory. You will be asked if your address and postal code are current and whether you can be contacted by computer. Do you have an assigned mailbox? The time seems appropriate to update the Parish information as we continue to self-isolate. Please thank your phoner.

Lessons learned because of COVID – 19: Get dressed every day. Read the book that has sat on the shelf for a month. Go outdoors each day. Phone a friend or neighbour. Say a prayer for the front-line workers, the postal workers, the bus drivers, the news providers, the garbage persons, the street sweepers, all the families doing homeschooling, the transport drivers who bring us our food, the grocery store staff and all the volunteers who are doing grocery, drug store and food deliveries. Pray for those who are homeless.

Church Security: Access Code box has been stripped of all known and unknown, more than 100, existing numbers. If you have entry problems, contact Lynne Arling at 403-242-9595 or arling07[at]telus[dot]net

Church Gardens: Now that we are able to get into our gardens once again, we may find that we have surplus perennials. The Church would be happy to give them a new home. Also, can you make a once-a-week commitment to water and/or weed the front gardens during the summer months? If you are interested in supplying plants or helping, please contact Angela Bane at 403-281-2652.

Church Activities: Although the Church is officially closed, there are many on-going activities. The Wardens (Executive Council) are meeting weekly. Mike Bright reports that the present bills are paid but there are many other bills yet to arrive. Peter Leigh has arranged to have Cormack Hall floors cleaned, then stripped and re-finished. He has also arranged to have the kitchens commercially cleaned. Ron has been busy cleaning out all of our old paint supplies and pruning all our trees. He has also arranged for our Food Bank items to go to the Veteran’s Food Bank. Thank you to Peter Leigh for the three (3) trips to the recycling depot. Thank you to Arnold Williams for his weekly trips to assist Mike with the banking.

ZOOM Meetings Hunger for Healing: is meeting every Tuesday at 12 noon. Please contact Barry O’Flynn at 403-281- 4139 or valoflynn[at]shaw[dot]ca, if you wish to participate.
