It is with heavy hearts that we share the news of the death of Gordon Bourns – a longtime parishioner of St. Peter's who passed away on August 24 at the age of 92. May he rest in peace and rise in glory.

Gordon and his wife Phyllis faithfully attended the 8 a.m. service for many years, until they began to slow down in the latter 2010s. A geologist by trade, Gordon was active in St. Peter's youth and stewardship ministries, and in the community he served tirelessly with the YMCA and Canada World Youth organizations. 

He and Phyllis have four sons and many grandchildren and great granchildren, and his son Dave describes him as "extremely family-oriented, and very much loved."

Gordon passed away peacefully at home, surrounded by family. As per his wishes, the family said good-bye this week in an intimate gathering – so no service is planned.
