On December 7, Cormack Hall was turned into a movie theatre complete with a concession, a play area for toddlers and a whole lot of love, when St. Peter's hosted its first-ever Free Family Movie Night.
Twenty-two parishioners ranging in age from toddlers to the upper 70s came out for this special showing of the Disney film Frozen, and all agreed it was a very cool experience. We wore our jammies, and the children snuggled with stuffies and on blankets for part of the evening, and sang and danced along with Elsa and Anna, or frolicked freely or built tall towers in the play area for the rest.
We munched on popcorn and mini-chocolate bars from the 50-cent concession, and parents relaxed as they enjoyed a stress-free, low-cost family outing in a safe and familiar environment. Proceeds from snack sales will go to a children's charity to be chosen by Disciple Depot students in the New Year. Thanks for coming out, everybody!
We plan to host these events regularly in 2025 and beyond, and we hope to attract families from the neighbourhood as well as the parish. Stay tuned!
