Our parish was on diocesan display on June 29, when we hosted an ordination service for two deacons and two priests, as well as a wine & cheese reception and a banquet celebrating our Patronal Feast – and the day was a huge success, thanks to the hard work and dedication of dozens of parishioners.
More than 175 people attended the service, and most of them stayed for the joy-filled reception in the Lower Hall. After that, about 60 people went upstairs for the banquet. The food (provided by Sunterra) was scrumptious and the entertainment (provided by pianist Alexander Leith) was exquisite.
The fun- and Spirit-filled event showcased to our community and to the whole Anglican Diocese of Calgary what St. Peter's is capable of, when we respond to the God's leading. We definitely turned some heads ... probably including some of our own!
And now, we get to flex many of those same muscles again, as we prepare to feed the multitudes during Sunday's Stampede Breakfast. Saddle up, St. Peter's! Y'all come.
